Replacement woofer foam
Have a pair of old Allison CD 9's where the woofer cone foam was shot. Watched the online video, bougth the kit and everything went well. Upon trying out the repair it was found that one tower had a damaged dome tweeter and midrange. Sent those to Simply Speaker and waiting to see if u can repair them. Hopefully u can. Thanks very much.

Allison Refoam Kit and Foam guard
It took a while to get here, with all the bad weather in the north east, but it was worth the wait.My son in law bought a vintage turntable and wanted a vintage system to go with.My 30 yr.old Allison 9's were in bad shape. It almost brought tears to my eyes bringing them back to life.If you do it get the edges well clean of old glue and be carefull of the cone edges...take your time. When gluing have patience, work the glue slowly around the edge...round and round it takes time to grab. Centreing the cone was no problem it almost centred itself as the foam is the exact size and leaves an equal space all the way around the frame.Get the Foam Guard...might as well finish the job,it was just a quick 5 minutes to brush it on. While I was at it I used refinisher on the walnut cabinetes. You should see and hear them, with my VSP labs Transmos amp,StraightwireII preamp and Alpine 7200 CD player...where's my bellbottoms. Ps. I'm lending the system to my son inlaw not giving.

It's like getting new speakers
My 32 year old Allison One's were in sore need of this surround repair. It takes a while (each of my speakers has 2 woofers, so 4 in all in this case). But just following the instructions slowly and carefully does the trick. The adhesive is like a contact cement, except you apply it without allowing each surface to dry first (that would make the position unadjustable). So it takes a while to dry. I found that the best thing to do was to repeat pressing down all around the rim every couple of minutes until it finally dried, to avoid having nonadhered sections which lift up. 3 of my speakers centered themselves well. The 4th one was awkward, and I had to experiment a lot to position the surround so that the core would not scrape when depressed or pushed out (test it both ways). After all that, I now have like-new speakers. All other drivers are good. Now I have my bass back!
