This is what the speaker recone kit will look like. Depending on the model, there may be differences in the parts or adhesives supplied in the reconing kit. |

Cut out old cone assembly and apply masking tape to magnet gap to prevent debris from entering. Scrape all residue from frame using a utility knife. Soften any old glue with lacquer thinner if necessary. |

Clean magnet gap with masking tape sticky side out using a business card as a guide. Place plastic shim between voice coil and magnet pole and set the height voice coil height according to original voice coil setting. Be sure to align voice coil leads with terminal on speaker frame. |

Dry fit the spider. Be sure the spider fits tightly around the voice coil. |

Use an awl to make lead-wire holes in cone following the original cone hole locations as a guide. Open cone neck if necessary. Dry fit the cone. |

Remove the dry fit spider and apply part # MI-3035 adhesive to the spider landing area. |
 |
Set spider into the adhesive as shown. Allow to dry 1 hour minimum. |

Apply 2-part epoxy mix adhesive to voice coil, spider area as shown. Apply part # MI-3035 adhesive to surround landing area. |
 |
Install cone into wet 2-part epoxy and wet MI-3035 surround landing adhesive. Apply 2-part epoxy to top of spider, voice coil, and cone neck as required. allow to dry 1 hour minimum. |

Apply part # MI-3035 to top of new surround for gasket. Install gasket and be sure to line up the holes for the screws. |
 |
Set speaker gasket side down and allow to dry for 1 hour minimum. |
 |
Prepare the lead-wires for soldering as shown. (Some models already have the lead-wires attached). |

Solder as shown. |

Place lead-wires through cone as shown. |
 |
Apply black adhesive to the lead-wires and cone. Allow to dry 1 hour minimum. Remove shim and check for free up and down cone assembly travel. |

Install dust cap with part # MI-3035 adhesive. Use a weight while adhesive dries. Minimum 1 hour. For dust caps without a glue lip, please use the black adhesive and apply a bead to the area where the dust cap meets the cone. |
 |
Use white edge sealer for un-treated cloth edge cones. Use a small brush to apply evenly around edge. Allow to dry 1 hour minimum. Some models are pre-treated. Once dry, the edge will be shiny and slightly sticky. |
