The repair kit arrived in about 10 days and I had the old speakers stripped down and clean; ready for repair. The process of replacing the foam was straightforward and I left several hours for the glue to set between each phase. My only concern was that when replacing the original gasket, I found that it pressed against the outside roll of the foam. I went ahead but I'm still not sure if this a good thing. The replacement foam is quoted as having an 11mm roll width which may not correspond with the original roll width. I would be inclined next time to get a pair of replacement gaskets. Having said that, the repaired DCM TF-350s are sounding much better.

Did not solve my problem

The process of replacing the foam surround was fairly straightforward. It did not solve the problem in my speakers, however.

DCM Timeframe TF350

The foam roll is too wide to be used with the TF350. It seems to fit fine initially but when you attempt to replace the original gasket there is not enough space. By the time that you notice, you have glue everywhere that it shouldn't be and even through your best efforts to push the outer rim in to give it more clearance for the gasket, it will still push the foam surround in and also hold to the edge of the roll. The end product is an over tight surround with no flex that creates a distorted sound. I have re-foamed numerous speakers and have always had great success with Simply Speakers foam repair kits, but this one does not fit correctly on the DCM Timefream TF350...........Response from Simply Speakers: Sorry to hear the kit had fitment issues. We checked several from our current run on these, and the 6.5" gaskets we carry fit the foam surrounds perfectly and did not contact the roll of the foam. Your DCM gaskets might be wider? You could also run them without gaskets. Please advise if you would like a pair of gaskets.

Q: Is this for two speakers, it says kit? I own 4 DCM TF350's, so I could order 2 kits and repair my 4 speakers? Thank You Mark

A: Yes, this kit is for TWO speakers. Order two kits if you need to fix all four woofers.

Q: I watched the video. Not mentioned was the foam sealer. What is it for?

A: Liquid Foam Guard is a brush on PVA sealer that protects foam surrounds from moisture and mechanical breakdown. Includes 1 oz. bottle and brush applicator. Goes on white, dries clear, and leaves a slight gloss finish.
