Perfect direct replacement

One text to staff there and I had the correct drivers for my AR2ax pair. A direct replacement-the screw holes even lined up. These are a definite upgrade to the original drivers which had been refoamed twice. Superb!

AR-W-1010 woofers

My Advent Legacy speakers were 28+ years old and the cushions surrounding the woofers were completely rotten which left the sound quality lousy. I ordered the AR-W-1010 woofers and the came quickly, well packaged, were a perfect fit with simple installation, and the sound quality takes me back 28 years ago. Thanks Simply Speakers. You've taken an old long hair back to his glory days.

The right choice for my old KLHS

I had a few email exchanges with a customer service rep at simply speakers, and based on my description and measurements of my current speakers, he recommended this one. I was relieved to have some clear guidance on this because I really couldn’t easily find answers out there by searching on the web- a lot of information and opinions that I wasn’t really interested in filtering through. I’m not an audiophile but u do like good sound. So the recommendation was solid- it installed well and sounds great. When my other woofer goes, I will buy another of the same speaker. One note that is probably worth mentioning, but definitely not a dealbreaker for me: the depth of the speaker was a little too big for the opening - I couldn’t tell what it was hitting, but probably around the edges of the inside of the opening . So when I installed it it wasn’t totally flush. But for my needs good enough, and still solidly in place. To me, it seems outside of having a professional do the replacement, and make custom adjustments, seems like it’d be impossible to predict this without having the speaker to try out for a perfect fit.

Money well spent

Money well spent!! Might be a better replacement out there somewhere for my Advent Maestros, but not that I could find. The woofer surrounds evaporated over 20 years ago and at the time I didn't know the foam could be replaced. Unfortunately, after dragged them all over the planate for the past 36 years, the woofers were somehow damaged beyond repair. So glad I found these guys. Thanks Sean for the recommendation. The W-1010’s sound amazing. In fact, I don’t even remember them sounding as good as they do now. The base seems fuller and a bit heavier. And as I remember, that was the only thing about the Advent Maestros that I felt was lacking. But that was 30 plus years ago. And the best part about it is, if they can pry them from my cold dead fingers, I’ll get to hand these down to my granddaughter and not anytime soon. Anyways, Thanks guys.

Alon V replacement woofer

Went through about a year trying to get a woofer that was distorting fixed. The problem was that re-foamers and rebuilders would run the woofer through pulse and sine wave(?) testing and declare it fixed. But as far as I know they never installed it or put music to it. I even had the woofer crossovers rebuilt. Nothing fixed the distortion in the speaker. So, I decided to just buy a new woofer (2) and see if that fixed the problem. I contacted Simply Speakers and gave them the dimensions and they suggested this AR replacement. I was skeptical at first if the woofer was of similar quality to the woofer in the Alon V's. I have been very pleasantly surprised at the quality of the driver (I am sure also helped by the crossover rebuild) and the beauty was the mounting holes lined up perfectly, no drilling or modifications necessary. By the way, this woofer had been sent to a guy that has a near legendary reputation for speaker rebuilds. Have used SS a few times in the past always with excellent results. Glad you guys are there!
