Baby Advents re-foam

I purchased this kit to re-foam a pair of Baby Advent II speakers for a friend of mine (see link to YouTube video in "customer photos and videos" section of the Simply Speakers web site). As always, a quick and easy job with the Simply Speakers method. I'll never go back to using shims for a re-foam job.

These were great. This was my first foam repair. I'd recommend watching a video or two online to get a sense of the different steps. I used a touch too much glue in one step, but otherwise, I think it worked out pretty well. Speakers are now fully functional. I've tested them, and they sound great.

Speakers sound alot better could here them before I bought this repair Kit They still have a little Vibration at a Higher Decipal but you can enjoy them just the same at a moderate level I am satisfied Don't have buy another Speaker at the moment

The repair kit worked beautifully, and I am very happy with the results. My Baby Advent II speakers sound as good as new. My suggestion is that Simply Speakers experiment with smaller tubes of glue. For both my foam repair and gasket repair, I received tubes of glue and I now have an extra full tube I have no use for. Thank you

Use the product to repair a couple of Advent Baby II woofers. On the first speaker repair, I learned the hard way that it is possible to put to much alcohol on the paper part of the speaker to damage it when removing the glue off the outer rim. The directions that came with the product didn't emphasize that so my bad and I am warning you. The second speaker, repaired similar to the first turned out much better and sounds just like new. I would order this product again but just be more careful next time.

Foam fits perfectly. Glue gets tackier faster than expected. Not quite matching the description in the educational video. Final results were very good though.

A: Yes, but you need the two pack kit and not the four pack kit. See part # ADV-FSK-6.5.

Q: A friend gave me some old Mini Advents that need the foam replaced. Do the foam repair kits sound as good or better than the cloth ones? I am comparing your Advent 6.5" Foam Speaker Repair Kit FSK-6.5 (PAIR) for $24.95. VS 6-1/2" Speaker Cloth Edge Repair New-Edge-It ® Kit, Part #CLSK-6.5 for $24.95? Also, the cloth edge kit does not say "(Pair)." Does that mean I would need to buy 2 of the cloth kits each for $24.95. Thanks. I've done fine refoaming Allisons and Electro Voices, so figure this should work fine either way. thanks

A: We recommend staying with the foam vs. the cloth. the cloth is stiffer and will limit bass response. The cloth kits are also sold in pairs.

A: The rubber "equivalent" is kit # RSK-6.5. Please note that the rubber surrounds are heavier than foam, and as such, may alter the speaker performance.
