The most common problem with speakers are rotted, torn or damaged surrounds. The surround is the outer suspension part of the cone. Constant vibration, time and the environment cause foam and rubber surrounds to degrade. Cloth and paper surrounds can become brittle. This causes distortion and poor performance.

Great service and videos. I installed my own on my "smaller" Advent speakers. They sound amazing! Advent 9" Foam Repair Kit

I came across a YouTube video about re-foaming a The Advent/2 woofer and recommended a nine-inch foam from Simply Speakers. After following video instructions on You Tube, everything came out good. Delivery was fast and product was excellent. Highly recommended!

Not difficult to install, and work perfectly

The surrounds for my Smaller Advent Lodspeakers arrived quickly. The entire installation process took about 4 hours from start to finish, most of which was spent cleaning out the old foam and waiting for the glue on the new surrounds to dry. The glue can get messy, though it dries clear, so you'll want to work carefully with it. The speakers are now like new (I assume--they're older than I am) again.

I returned the 9" foams because I got the size wrong. They exchanged them for the correct 8", which I greatly appreciated.

If you’re going to save any speakers. The only company that has all the tool, tricks, and tutorials is Simply speaks. They’ll sell you the foam too!!

This repair kit was so easy to install with the online video tutorial. I was done with the replacement in a couple of hours, most of which was waiting the required time for the glue to dry. My Advents now sound like new!

A: Measure just the cone portion by itself. If it is 7" to 7-1/8" then you need the FSK-9. If it has been reconed using the 7-1/2" cone, then you need kit # FSK-10AD or FSK-10F

A: If the cone (paper part) is 4.75", then you need kit # FSK-6.5. If you have the Mini Advent, the cone will measure 3.75" and you need kit # FSK-5.25. Repair is easy if you follow through the video.
