BMW, Nokia 4.5" Speaker

I was replacing the surrounds on the 4.5" Mid bass rear speakers in a BMW E36 convertible. The speaker is contained in a plastic pod along with a 1" tweeter. One replacement went well but, on the second, I had drag on the voice coil that I couldn't correct because of the configuration of this particular speaker. After help from technical support I was able to remove the newly applied surround and start over. On a small speaker such as this it is very difficult to center the voice coil in the cone. On my second attempt, I glued the oputside of the surround to the speaker housing and let it dry before gluing it to the cone. This worked much better and was easier to center the voice coil in this type of small speaker. As I was advised by technical support, small speakers are difficult to center and this method seemed to help a lot. It was also difficult to remove the speaker from the pod in this particular BMW speaker but not impossible. However, after learning how everything fit together, I do not believe it is necessary to remove the speaker from the pod IF you glue the outside of the surround in place first and then glue the cone and center it.

Great way to recover old speakers

I have two 1995 BMW 325i Convertibles - the rear speakers foam was pretty much gone... This kit put me back in business! I have multiple videos of the procedure I used - I need to stitch them together and I'll post another review with the link.

Perfect

I've got a '95 BMW 325 convertible. I wanted to keep everything stock so I opted to repair the original speakers versus purchasing new at over $100 each. This kit is exactly what you need to replace the old rotted foam rings for 1/4 the price of new OEM speakers.

Amazing Repair

I purchased these because I wanted to keep the factory speakers that were blown and I didn't want to buy another set of speakers that were already 14 years old so I was looking into a speaker repair kit and found these guys, which by the way are amazing. I mentioned that they were for the front speakers of my BMW 740iL and they replied with a suggestion to make sure they worked, and all I can say is that I enjoy listening to music in my car once again. Would defiantly recommend them and this kit to other people and also would buy from these guys again also.

BMW-FSK-4.5 BMW, Nokia 4.5" Foam Speaker Repair Kit FSK-4.5 (PAIR)

Facing very expensive speaker replacements at about $110 each, I thought it worth a try to repair the ones I have. So, for a mere $25, and with good instructions from SimplySpeakers, I've saved next to $200 and my speakers are as good as new! My order arrived quickly after it was placed, and I couldn't be more satisfied!

1996 BMW speakers like new

Although I think the kit is a little too expensive, the net result is that my 1996 BMW speakers now work like new. The instructions were easy to follow and the foam and glue worked well to create a lasting repair. Overall the kit is a good value and to me it is worth repairing existing speakers over the cost of replacing them with OEM or aftermarket.
