My old friends are back!

Had 42 year old 501 Series II that the foam was all rotted off. Saw this repair vs. new speakers and thought I would give it a try. The video is what sold me, it was extremely helpful. Be VERY careful of you final alignment before gluing the outside edges. If you are ever so slightly off center the magnet will rub and if the glue is set, you're screwed! One of mine just barely touched when I pressed the speaker in and out and when I fired it up, it sounded terribly. I was able to take a small piece of foam and glue it to the outside edge of the speaker and press it in ever so slightly to realign it. Sounds great now...my fault totally.

I purchased the set and received it correctly. Remark: 21€ (inport duty + VAT) on a 20$ purchase: that's how we feed the Belgian governments! I was sceptical towards the centering of the cone into the speakerframe but due to the properties of the glue (delivered with the kit) it is quiet easy to get it done. During the glue process there is time to check and correct the positioning (various times) until you have it perfectly aligned. The video clip is a real help especially for understanding the timing of the glue!! After 48h I have tested the woofers with a potion of Gregory Porter's Liquid Spirit: My stomach was kicked that bad that I had to run for a Whiskey!! The result is simply "excellent". (I might buy an extra set for my kids so that they can refurbish them again in 2043). Luc Voorspoels. Solid Bass Lover

Great product!

Amazing product and simple to install. My biggest piece of advice is to TAKE YOUR TIME! Don't rush the installation, especially when gluing the foam to the outer speaker frame. Keep checking centering on the voice coil. This product worked SO well, I'm now evaluating all my other speakers, hoping to find bad foam, so I can do it again!

The foam was just a bit small. Inside and Outside Diameters. I think installation and final appearance would have been better if is was a bit larger. The glue was great. Good working time, it's what you need to adjust the fit.

100% perfect. Plenty of glue. Fits perfect. I have ordered many foam kits from Simply Speakers and I have not had one problem with them.
