Excellent kit.

This was my first time refoaming a speaker. The kit worked great, the instructions and video were excellent and very clear. Everything went very smoothly, and my speaker sounds great again. I was using it to refoam a woofer on a pair of Bose 301s that I've owned since the mid 70s.

Bose 301 Series II speakers with Repair Kit FSK-8

I found a decent pair of Bose 301 speakers with deteriorated foam at my local thrift store. I purchased them knowing that I could easily replace the foam surrounds with aftermarket ones. I replaced the foam before I went to sleep, let them dry for 12hrs and the next day I was enjoying my Bose speakers. To be sincere, I have zero experience in refurbishing speakers or hi-fidelity speaker. But I still think my speakers sound great. Overall, the $35 dollars that I spent on the speakers and on the cones were well spent. I purchased the repair kit (FSK-8) some time in March of 2016. It is now early June of 2016 and I have not had any complaints about the repair kit. I am not getting paid for this review. I was simply cleaning out my email account and happened to find an email asking me to review the foam kit. I hope this helps.

Second time using simply speakers for a foam repair and can say I was 100% satisfied. Refoamed a pair of Bose 301s and they now sound great!

When I dug out my old 301 Bose speakers from the 70's and decided to hook them up the speaker foam was rotten. I considered taking them to a local shop for repair. But I came across a video on replacing them myself on Youtube. The video was from Simply Speakers. I checked out their site and thought the video was extremely well done and made it look like something I could do. So for the few bucks it cost to buy the foam I didn't have to take my speakers in and pay a lot of cash for something I was able to do in short order. Very happy with the whole process.

Bose 301 series II

I don't generally invest time in reviews; this is an exception. I replaced my elderly Bose 301 series II foam surrounds with those in the FSK-8 kit. It was easy to do and the results are perfect. That is cool, but not the reason for my review - it is these folks at Simply Speakers; they are effortless to deal with, and they are clearly passionate about their services and the quality of their products. My several other speaker systems are still pristine, but if they ever have any issues, I will start here first with no hesitation.

Master Idiot

I fired up an old pair of Bose speakers only to find the foam rings were disintegrated . With a little youtube research, I found the answer with Simply Speakers. They had a very clear how to video to replace the rings. $25 later and maybe a week, I was back up and rocking out. But I did notice a buzz at certain low voice tones so I contacted them for advice. They explained how to soften up the glue and center the ring. One day later, I'm rocking my house up with Motley Crue and AC/DC. I'm sure the neighbors love me now. Thank you Simply Speakers, I just added another skill to my toolbox.

Perfect

I was hesitant at first to attempt reforming my speakers. The kit was great, it came with clear instructions and within a few hours my Bose speakers sounded like new. The online how to videos were very helpful and with the reasonable price, I will definitely use Simply Speakers again.

Bose 301 Repair

I repaired two Bose 301 Series 2 speakers using the "Simply Speakers Kit FSK-8" and instructions. The foam on these 1987 speakers was literally crumbling apart. I am in my mid-60's and found the instructions clear and easy to follow. I was concerned about centering the foam w/o using shims around the dome, but didn't have any problems at all. The hardest part was removing the adhesive from the paper cone. Some of the edges got pretty roughed up but the new foam covers most of it. The bottom line is that the speakers sound great again!

Q: I have a pair of Bose 301 speakers that need foam repair. The label just says 301 - no reference to Series. They were purchased in 1979 and are still working great except for the foam deterioration. I want to try to fix them! It looks like it is an 8 in speaker (not sure where you measure the diameter to) and it rests in a 7" opening in the speaker cabinet. Is this the right kit? Much thanks. Dale
