Did the job

I ordered a repair kit for a 17-year-old subwoofer. Shipping to Canada, while not inexpensive, was quick. The instructions were clear enough, and after a couple of hours (disassembly, removing the old foam and adhesive, installing the new foam, regluing and letting it dry, and then finally reassembling and reconnecting the speaker) it worked just about as good as new. The entire process was something of a chore, but the results were certainly gratifying.

Ordered the wrong size foam to begin. Simply Speakers quickly replaced with correct size after return at no cost even though I'd trimmed the first to try to get a fit. Second set fit and worked perfectly. Used Goo Gone to remove old adhesive from speaker. Nothing else seemed to work and it didn't appear to harm the speaker cone. I would highly recommend this company and their repair kits.

Thanks, SimplySpeakers! For what? 1. Super-fast shipping 2. Great quality product - perfectly sized, easy to install, sounds fabulous. 3. Great support - I goofed one of the two foam surrounds. The tech talked through what I had probably done wrong and sent a replacement, for free, the same day. I'm listening to the speakers now - they sound at least as good as they did when they were new, 30 years ago. A big thanks and thumb up.

Excellent way to refresh an old driver with foam surround damage. The 15 year old sub woofer I repaired with this kit is as good as new!!

Replacement surrounds worked fine. Just be sure to shim your poles using business card pieces or similar.

Worked great!

I have a pair of Boston A40 speakers I have had for a long time (22 yrs.), always great sound until the foam fell apart. I was about to just trash them until I saw your repair kit online. I watched the video instructions twice to make sure I would do it right. (excellent video's by the way!)go slow and take your time my advice. My speakers now sound like new!!

Very easy to replace

I have a Boston home theatre subwoofer which I haven't been in a position to use for about 8 years. So after a few days use, the subwoofer sounded broken. The foam of the speaker had disintegrated completely. I wasn't aware I could repair it myself, so it came as a huge relief, as I love my system. Delivered in a few days, and was so easy to repair. Just make sure you remove the bad foam completely, as it makes adding the new foam so much easier. Needed some trimming but no effect on outcome. Now I am back to enjoying fantastic bass again.

Q: What is the correct kit # for the Boston Acoustics A120 woofer? The outside diameter of the foam is about 9-1/2 inches, and the diameter of the cone itself is about 7 inches. Thanks!

A: For the A120 10" passive radiators, please order our kit # BA-FSK-10A. For the woofers, order kit # BA-FSK-6.5.

Q: I have a pair of Boston Acoustics A40V. They're AV40 speakers with shielding so they could be placed next to a CRT TV without distorting the picture. Want to confirm this is the correct repair kit? The outside diameter of the woofer speaker frame is 6.5 inches.
