Boston Acoustics 6" Foam Kit, Fits A40 Series II, V, 360, Others, FSK-628 (PAIR)

Fit like a glove and the install was straightforward and simple. Repaired speaker sounds just like it did when it was brand new. Highly recommend this item to anyone with a speaker that it fits.

Was going to toss my Boston A40 shelf speakers and get new one's until I saw your video. Looks simple enough and will give it a try. Very good instructor.

Foam needed slight trimming and regular scissors worked well for that. I replaced foam on 4 speakers and could have used a little more glue. Ran out half-way through the 4th speaker on the last step when trying to add a top coat over the foam-to-outside edge (which was already glued from previous step). I'm sure it will be fine, but I did use every bit in the single tube which came with the kit. Directions were clear and easy to follow. For removing the old glue I found Goof Off product worked well. Speakers are like new again!

I purchased the foam replacement rings for my speakers, watched the installation video and had no problems installing replacement foam.Speakers are working like new.

If you have Boston Acoustics A40s, be sure to check with the staff before ordering surrounds. There are differences in A40 and A40 Series II woofers and there were no markings on the woofers or enclosures other than "A40" to clearly identify which I had. ($ to return.) It was bit of a struggle to install these surrounds but the results are clearly worth it. The 27yo speakers sound really sweet with my 37yo Yamaha analog receiver. Here are my comments on the process: # Keep in mind that the demo video using the 12" woofer shows a skillful tech doing the work and that the woofer frame is large enough to allow comfortable access to the cone from underneath. Smaller woofers may not. I stuffed shims made out of paper towel tube sections between my woofer frame and the cone to raise it for centering the surround on it. I spent quite a bit of time figuring this out with many dry fits as I did not want to wreck the $25 surrounds. # Rubbing alcohol was not useful for removing old glue from the cone. I wound up using acetone. This process took about 90min to complete. # The glue provided in my kit had nowhere near the the working time that was shown in the demo video. (Air temp in the room was only 73deg F.) This made it critical (and slightly stressful :-) to get the surrounds centered ASAP. I enjoyed the process of reviving my old speakers and would encourage others to try it. The SimplySpeakers staff is helpful and responsive. The "Message us here!" button really works! :-)

My wife and I recently purchased a 30 year old home with a whole house sound system. One speaker in particular sounded really bad when a song with a lot of bass came on. While I was researching replacement speakers I came across your website. Long story short….I’m not that handy, but I am cheap (thrifty). I replaced the foam surrounds on my BA 360’s and they sound as good as new. If I can do it, anyone can. It was simple - tedious at times - but we are so happy with the results.

I followed the instructions on the videos and the product worked just as described. Changed a 30 yr old set of bookshelf speakers to working like new and in use again in my shop. Most difficult part is removing the old glue from the speaker cone and baskets. Very good product. Bought another set for some Advent speakers.
