Cambridge Soundworks 6.5" Foam Speaker Repair Kit FSK-6.5 (PAIR)

The repair kit came quickly and fit the speakers; seemed fine, quality-wise. The Simply Speakers video of how to repair speaker foam was the best thing- watching how the guy handled foam removal, prep, and gluing on the new foam made a big difference. Anything involving glue is usually a messy process, and this was no exception. Centering the speaker cones was not a big deal. Both speakers are cosmetically OK, with the second looking a little better than the first (though they're both hidden in a subwoofer box, so it doesn't matter). The subwoofer sounds good again, with maybe a couple hours of work total. Would do again, though if the speaker was exposed I'd probably use a little less glue on the cone so it didn't spread out from under the foam.

Great product. My 20 year old Cambridge Soundworks sub woofer was buzzing. Upon inspection found that the foam rings on both speakers had broken up. In looking for replacement speakers, found the repair kit. Much less expensive than replacing the speakers. The kit was easy to use with great instructions. Viewing the video on the website was also very helpful.

Perfect repair for the Ensemble 2 bass speakers. Installation notes: the original surrounds were attached to the back sides of the cones, but I attached the new foam to the front and it worked fine. Also the speakers used a very sticky rubber-type cement to attach the original foam to the metal frame; it could not be removed with alcohol as recommended in the video. Just scrape most of it off with a razor knife.

Worked fine, speakers and subwoofer sound great. After looking at the video, still had a question, got a quick response. Worked out great!

The kit arrived promptly, was a perfect fit, and worked as expected. Getting the old glue and foam off the speaker frames was the hardest part -- use a sturdy knife and be careful/patient. The original foam was glued to the back of the cones, but these fit perfectly when glued to the top of the cones. The Simply Speakers video was very helpful. I actually used the technique described on other sites for driving the speakers with a low frequency signal to exercise the cones to make sure they were centered. I happen to have a frequency generator, but frankly the iPhone apps and an amp were more convenient to use. And even that was probably not necessary. I've used the shims in the past, but this worked just fine. My 20+ year old Soundworks subwoofer now sounds like new. Time and money well spent.

Actually had exact foam replacement labelled for Cambridge subwoofer speakers from '90's. Kit had everything needed to easy reinstall foam that had deteriorated. Speakers sound great.
