Cloth Edge Cerwin Vega 15" Speaker Repair Kit CLSK-VEGA15 (PAIR)

The Kits came in good condition. I would recommend these cloth style edges over the foam, especially if you think you'll be pumping a lot of base at a lot of amps through your speakers. Be sure to order the glue recommended as it gives you enough time to work with the material and doesn't set up immediately. The instructional videos helped a great deal!

I liked the Repair kit , saved me alot of money not having to buy new 15" woofers . Takes a bit of elbo grease at first but doable for some one with handy man skills . Watch the video and make sure you find the sweet spot !

I decided to go with the Cerwin Vega 15" cloth edge surrounds for one simple reason. Longevity of the cloth vs. foam surround. These CV's are about the same age as my BIC Venturi's with cloth edge and the BIC's are still going strong while the CV foam surrounds disintegrated. The cloth surrounds, for the most part were a good fit. I did trim the inside about 1/16" to line up with the old glue lines. The outside radius was about an 1/8" smaller than the frame but is really of no consequence. Since this was my first time repairing surrounds, I removed the center cap to shim the voice coil, even though the instructional videos say it isn't necessary, it almost 100% guarantees the alignment. The new dust covers were a small price to pay for peace of mind that the voice coils would not rub. The tube of glue for the surrounds and gaskets was completely used up even though the technician says that it is good for 4 speakers. I may have put more glue than necessary, first time, but I'm almost sure that you couldn't do more than the 2 15" surrounds since you have to glue the surround to the cone, then the surround to the frame and then the gasket. I would recommend 1 tube per 15" speaker surround.

Excellent product. I converted my old, disintegrating foams surrounds on my pair of mx-400's to cloth ones as I was looking for something that would be rather permanent instead of having to do this every 3, 5, 10 years. After further research to determine the best sealer to use, the sealer I wound up purchasing and using was a sealer sold by vintage-ar. I couldn't be more happy with the results- speakers are now more aesthetically pleasing from a looks perspective and the sound is so much better!

Speakers sound great now. Very happy.

This is the second time I have needed to do this to my 1978 Cerwin Vega speakers. Hopefully this kit will never need replacing. Buy the best quality and maintain it is what I always say.

never did this before but not new to these speakers or quality speakers. this company really puts a effort into firs time people doing installations, with video's they do not talk down to you or do sales pitches . give a informative caparison on types of cones and such . I was promised this set about 4 years back finally got them I am in a 1000 sq ft warehouse doing fine wood working I have / had set Polk out door speaker with a 85 watt receiver for my music replaced with these for a try after the cones were installed OH my the place rocks . they will not be in here long for obvious reasons but the cones were easy to install thanks to the company get the install kit ( glue ) view some of the videos and have a marker standing by along with alien key set . and you love the results . yes buy the better cloth ones .
