Cerwin Vega D3 Recone Kit

This was my first attempt at reconing a speaker and other than using too much glue it turned out great. The install vid walked me right through the process flawlessly. The only thing I didn't like about the kit is the foam surround is just a single layer foam instead of the 2 layer laminated foam that comes in the D3 refoam kit. I'm sure it will be fine, I just like the sturdiness of the laminated foams better than the single layer stuff.

recone kit

my Cerwin Vagas sound great again. In the beginning I didn't know if I had the talent to do this recone. With the help of Tom, getting the right parts and reading the instructions over and over and watching you tube, I was able to get this done. Thank You for helping me. JP

Great product

Everything worked as it should. Not sure if I missed the part where the adhesive was separate, but if you are going to order this product, be sure to order the adhesive kit as well.

Great product and customer service

First cone came in with some damage but I reached out and simplyspeakers responded within an hour and said they would get a new one on the way. When I got the new one I put it together as best as I could remember and probably should have read the manual before hand to set the coil height correctly. After some guesstimating I can got it pretty close because it works at all power levels and sounds great. The only thing that I see as an issue but is somewhat good is the sensitivity seems a bit higher than the factory woofer as there is cleaner and louder bass from the reconed speaker. It’s very subtle but I can pick up on it if I try so I may have to recone the other one at some point to match.

10 inch reconing kit with glue kit added

I have had my Cerwin Vega speakers a very long time and was very upset when an accident blew one of them, tearing threw the speaker cone , rendering them unusable.
