Cone: 12" red foam edge, smooth curvilinear cone
Voice Coil: 2", 2 layer, copper wire, Kapton former, 4 ohms, Re: 3.7 ohms
Spider: 5.875" x .1875" cup
Dust Cap: 3.75" felt
Gasket: 12" rubitex (4 section)

Recone kits include centering shim, instructions, and high power lead-wire
All recone kits are designed to meet or exceed the original specifications

The recone kit had everything in it required to do the job. After doing it as the video showed the drivers sounded like new.

I used this kit to repair a Cerwin Vega M-80 with a 122W4 woofer. The kit and glue worked great. The video was very helpful. I repaired the set, based on recommendations. The pair sound great and should last another 30 years, pending teenage music abuse. Highly Recommended.

I replaced it because of a tear. If you can change a tire you can do this. I only had one issue, the shim was too tight and I had to force the voice coil into its spot but it worked out and now this speaker has more bass than its mate, I would almost say if you are repairing a 20+ year old speaker do the pair to keep the bass the same.

The 122W2 is a Super Recone Kit!!!

The 122W2 Recone Kit that came from SimplySpeakers.com was perfect! All the materials (the cone, surround, spider, voice coil and glues) fit and worked perfectly together. This was my first time reconing speakers and it went off without a hitch. Bravo SimplySpeakers.com for putting together a great kit with super instructions. My Cerwin Vega HED U-321 speakers sound like new again!!! I am amazingly happy!!!! :-)

C-V 12" recone

Although I have done several refoam jobs in the past, I had never done a total recone job. Thanks to perfect replacement parts and an instructional video or two on YouTube from Simply Speakers, I had much more confidence in the endeavor. I had one problem in the last steps of the procedure but I contacts their tech guy and he helped me try a trick that fixed my problem, and everything turned out perfect. Love these guys !

Q: I am trying to find the correct recone kit for my Cerwin Vega 12" diameter woofers. They are in my U-321 speakers and have the stamp on the back of the magnet '122W2'. So, it looks like I have found the right kit, but the kit specifies a 4-ohm speaker and the woofer itself is actually an 8-ohm speaker. Is this the right kit?

A: Thanks. Yes, this is indeed the correct kit. The DCR of the voice coil on the 122W2 woofer is 4 ohms, but the system impedance is listed as 8 ohms.

A: Your model uses a different voice coil than the 122W2. We also sell the 122W4 kit.

Q: I have Cerwin Vega E-712 will this kit this kit fit the 12W4 woofer?

A: This kit will fit the 12W4, but please note that the dust cap is slightly different. The 12W4 uses an inverted cap part # DC-3.75F-Vi.
