SS Audio Recone Kit for 18" Cerwin Vega FH18E, 8 Ohms, RK-CVFH18E

Bought 2 kits for the Vega FH-18E last week and installed them over the weekend. It was a little tricky setting everything up, but following the instructions and a quick call to support and they are SIMPLY amazing again!

My recone kit arrived promptly and all of the components appear to be of good quality. As I disassembled my speaker, I noticed that there seemed to be a problem with the magnet being misaligned. It turns out that the magnet was completely cracked straight through the middle (like a bagel is sliced). I quickly realized that a recone kit wouldn't solve my problem and put all the components back in the box to save for a future date when I might need them. Because a broken magnet cannot be repaired, I ended up ordering a replacement woofer from Cerwin-Vega. I _should_ have noticed the cracked magnet initially, but as an amateur, sometimes you have to live and learn. In the future, I'll be sure to examine a speaker more thoroughly before ordering a recone kit. But I look forward to using the one I ordered, should the need arise.
