I have had the cabinets for about 20 years with some cheap replacement speakers. I found that the quality of the customer service and the woofer to be of top quality! Q: I am missing this passive radiator from my ESS AMT 1 B speakers. Can I purchase the passive radiator repair kit in place of this radiator or does the repair kit go onto this radiator assembly? Thanks! Best sounding speakers with the Heil AMT tweeter! BOSE tried with their direct/reflecting technology and failed, ESS succeeded!

A: In this case, you should only need the PASK-12 replacement passive radiator disc kit we sell.

Q: What exactly is a passive radiator? It looks like it does not have any electrical connections. Is that correct?

A: Correct, there are no electrical connections on a passive radiator. It takes the place of a bass reflex port in a traditional design and works be supplementing the woofer bass output.

A: These are simply screwed into the cabinet. No wire connections. They operate from the internal air pressures created by the active woofer.

Q: What is the difference between the cone and flat passive radiators? I'm the original owner of a pair of Amt 1a's and am wanting to restore them. Original to these were the flat panels

A: We normally recommend staying with the flat disc style for any ESS model that used them originally, but you can easily convert to these superior design passives on most models.
