ESS AMT Factory HEIL Speaker Ribbon Diaphragm 689-1107

The replacement ribbons fit perfectly and my ESS AMT1 Heil Air Motion Transformer Speakers sound like new! I have had these since June of 1974 and they work as good now as they did almost 40 years ago!

The replacements fit fine in my AMT-1's. Not sure of there is an orientation preference since my original diaphragms had the two wires coming from each side instead of the new diaphragms where the wires exit both on the same side. Nothing indicates which side should face forward. Running the speaker analysis on my Denon Receiver did not complain about the phase so I'm happy! Sounds great!

Great service, product & price for new ESS AMT diaphrames

This tweeter works great! I put off repairing the EMT1 speakers that I'd bought at a yard sale over a decade ago, due to being too cheap to buy a tweeter. If I'd known how good they'd sound, I'd have done it years ago. Very easy to put the new tweeter in. The directions should have mentioned to remove that plastic mesh (it easily peels off), as it's there to protect the tweeter during handling. The only issue I had was part of the tweeter frame had a slight lump, which I had to shave down slightly in order for it to slide into place. Highly recommended.

I repaired the old tweeters and they sound great. Be careful to insert the diaphragm. The safety net tends to get caught. I used two strips of paper as a guide and, after inserting the diaphragm between them, I pulled the paper out. Very good.

Got these to replace a well used pair of original high pleat ESS AMT3 diaphragms. They have a db or 2 higher output-granted these were originals-but I also acquired a NOS high pleat set-never installed-and these new replacements are still up a db or 2. No worries-as you can adjust the brightness control-but after a month or so-the sound evens out-and I have my back to the normal position. The also have a wider sweet spot then the O.E. AMT3 diaphragms-and to my ears seem much clearer-and definitely more efficient. If you have original 70's diaphragms-I would recommend replacing them with these new units-you will enjoy the difference in cleaner-clearer sound!! I real bargain upgrade IMHO for those awesome ESS speakers!!

These replacements were an easy plug and play. The color coded wiring was good for 2 of the 4 speakers. The other two required some figuring as the colors did not match up on the OEM diaphragms. After replacing both the surrounds and the diaphragms these 30 something-year old sets performed like new. Thank you Simply Speakers for your help in restoring my sounds.
