Ferrofluid Repair Kit, 100uL for 1" Diameter Voice Coil Part # MI-FF100

  • Ferrofluid Repair Kit
  • 100uL for 1" voice coil
  • Reduces distortion
  • Increases power handling
  • Comes complete with cleaning strips and instructions
  • For most compression drivers, repairs, and diaphragm assemblies

Our ferrofluid kits come with pre-measured packets of ferrofluid which are used to replace the old fluid in speaker air gaps when replacing diaphragm and coil assemblies.
Ferrofluid improves the performance of high frequency and midrange drivers. It works by damping the impedance at resonance to effectively lower distortion, smooth frequency response, and increase thermal power handling.

Ferrofluid improves the performance of high frequency and midrange drivers. It works by damping the impedance at resonance to effectively lower distortion, smooth frequency response, and increase thermal power handling. It should be used to replenish drivers treated previously with ferrofluid. With care, it can also upgrade most drivers that have never contained ferrofluid. The kits listed are approximate fill quantities relative to approximate voice coil diameters. In general, the air gap should be 75% filled prior to inserting a voice coil diaphragm assembly. The kit contains synthetic ester-based ferrofluids and in most cases should not pose any adhesive incompatibility. It is recommended that this is confirmed by contacting the driver manufacturer prior to usage. Adding ferrofluid to a driver not intended for it will, in most cases, void the original manufacturer's warranty. Included in kit: A ferrofluid packet, absorbent paper strips for removing old ferrofluid, detailed instructions, and material safety data sheet.

I had a speaker with low output from the tweeter and replacing the ferrofluid fixed the problem!

Thanks!
I would like to thank Simply Speakers for offering this product. I acquired a pair of KEF C40 speakers. At this age (30+) the tweeters sounded lower in output and KEF no longer supports these drivers. I restored these speakers to their magnificent splendor with the use of this kit to remove and replace the Ferrofluid that had turned to sludge in the voice coil gap and stuck to the voice coil (used foam swabs to clean the voice coil), and re-coating the dome with Mod Podge waterbase fabric sealer. The speakers sound amazing thanks to this kit! A HUGE improvement and very inexpensive. Dull treble may not be your crossover capacitors if your tweeters employ Ferrofluid! This substance gets more viscus over time strangling your tweeters!

Mr
I’m so glad I tried this on my 23 year old B&W P4 tweeters. I was ready to let them go since it would be too expensive to replace the tweeters. After installing new ferrofluid they are like new again. My advice is to definitely try this, but make sure you clean the old fluid out first. Mine was sticky like tar and took about 45 minutes per tweeter to clean, but well worth it.

mr.
In my JBL 4408A speakers, the tweeters were starting to sound bad --really bad! I pulled them apart and cleaned the gap in the magnets then added new ferrofluid from "Simply Speakers". The result was unbelievable. My tweeters have never sounded this good. I am normally too busy to leave reviews but I am so pleased that I took the time to do so.
