6.5" Infinity Style Woofer fits RS 225, RS 525, Reference One, others, W-610

I've re-foamed woofers in the past and decided that just replacing them is better use of my time. These speakers were an exact match for the old ones.

Performs as indicated. Easy to install.

So much easier that refoaming, plus they sound great. Had to change one female blade connector in each speaker to fit the new woofers securely, but otherwise a quick operation

In the late summer I replaced the disintegrating foam surrounds on the set of bass and midrange speaker elements on my Infinity CS3008 towers. I was thrilled with the results and was really surprised at how well it went together. Unfortunately I found that one of the 6" mid-woofers had a rattle after this process, and I imagine it may have pre-dated the foam surround degradation or have been a result of playing them with that. I reached out to the team at Simply Speakers and they assured me that this model was a workable solution. I put it in and found it resolved my problem and now the speakers are as good as I remember. So, I replaced the foam on the 6 drivers, for nominal expense, and ended up only spending $50 for one driver rather than hundreds of dollars for the set. Really a good option. The thing to know about the surround replacement procedure is that the corrugated diaphram that holds the voice coil centered does a really good job at centering the cone when you attach it to the basket with the new foam surrounds. Although they suggest using alcohol to dissolve the foam surround adhesive, I found that mineral spirits works much better and results in much less dangerous scraping to get it all clean, especially getting the foam residue off the cones.
