These worked great. My woofers are back with authority! The only thing I would note is that I had to trim the spider to fit the basket.

I used the Kits to recone the woofers on my JBL Ti5000. I did notice two differences: the original voice coil assembly has venting holes and as mentioned earlier the spider is too big, but can be cut to fit. As my voice coils were actually in tact, I managed to reuse those with the new spider, cone and surrounds. As always the most difficult part is setting the coil height perfectly. On my first run I had to use two mixing labyrinths for the epoxy resin for one speaker. Results: They sound better than ever! Deep and controlled - I just love it and it was definitely worth the effort. Thank you guys and take care.

I have a pair of JBL L-7 speakers that I bought in 1994. They have been great speakers and recently the right channel driver started cracking on every bass note. I ordered a recone kit with adhesives, followed the included directions, and within a day the speaker was just like new and back in the enclosure. The whole thing cost me only a hundred bucks which I thought was a great deal since I paid two grand for those speakers 30 years ago. Reconing is a pretty simple process which can be done with a little patience and common sense. There are plenty of videos out there to answer specific questions so give it a shot. You will be pleased with the "good as new" sound from your worn out or blown speaker.
