Restored my speakers to "like new"

The product works as advertised, and I am happy with the results. The instructions were clear and complete; it helped to watch the YouTube tutorial online. The adhesive is just right for the application. I found that removing the old material was by far the most time-consuming and difficult part of the process; of course that has nothing to do with the new gaskets. Just be aware that to get the full quality and performance of the new gaskets, you need to be patient and thorough in cleaning out the old pieces and adhesives.

Vintage collecter

Everything works perfect 3rd pair of speakers refoamed and sound beautiful im hooked on refoaming vintage speakers purchaced jbl's for 10 bucks some of the best speakers i've heard thank you

Perfect Fit

Working with Sean the Foaming Guru at Simply Speakers he helped me identify the correct foam for an old 1990's pair of JBL J1000MV's. Both the 10' and 6.5 in foam was just powder. I'd never done a repair like this before so there video was an awesome help and there kit fit perfectly. These are under mounts just as the originals and wow did they do the trick. The detail is back in the speakers and the kit was really easy to use. A little note with the cones, don't use too much rubbing alcohol on them as they change shape if you do. Make sure you follow the video where they dab the alcohol on the speaker. I didn't do that originally and had to work to get the cone back in shape. Again my first time but wow they sound awesome. Also if you get some alcohol on the cone it self, it causes them to go white. I added a little Black Tire to a rag and did a quick wipe of the cone, this brought the shine back and make them look great. You don't need this if you are good and follow there instructions but if you are a little to aggressive with the alcohol you may so it is a good trick. Anyway, great product, and it really brings the speakers back to life for another 20 years.

Perfect Fix for Early Explorers / JBL Base

Saab 9-5 Harman Kardon subwoofer surround refoam

The subwoofer on my 2002 Saab 9-5 Aero wagon (Prestige audio pkg) had deteriorated foam surround and wasn't working. Once the sub was removed and the problem seen, the next big challenge was finding a proper-sized surround. Couldn't find one specifically listed for this Harman Kardon subwoofer, but after cleaning off the old bad foam and taking measurements, went with this JBL P206 P206HS repair kit as the dimensions of this one were closest than any other 6.5" kit they had - it ended up fitting almost perfectly. The outer-most edge was just a bit (about 1mm) too big to fit nicely in the speaker basket, but carefully trimmed it off with scissors and it fit well. Followed the excellent directions given in the kit (and watched a few of Simply Speakers vids) and the repair worked out great. Also ordered and used the edge sealer to protect the new foam after it was glued on. Reinstalled everything back and tested - got the missing bass back, and the entire system finally sounded like it should! Great product, adhesives and instructions!
