Ya, I'm old and the only one in the household that could even attempt this. I have an old set of Jensen System 300 speakers and the foams rotted. I found this kit with an internet search and it worked out great. The woofers have a plastic ring that needed to be removed and reapplied, which I was concerned about, but if you heat the rings and frames with a heat gun, and are gentle, the old foams will break apart and the plastic rings come off with no issue. The new foams fit perfectly and the glue worked awesomely. Cleaning the old foam and glue off the frames and the plastic rings was the worst part. Take your time and follow the directions for centering when installing the foams. It's a great kit and the price makes it worth repairing old speakers if they're in good shape otherwise. The glue is fantastic, it's better than contact cement, smells differently too, but dries kind of rubbery. I've used the left over on several things, it's great...

Repaired these 40 plus year old speakers and they sound great. Been meaning to replace woofers for years and then found Simply Speakers. Have recommended them to several friends with similar issues.

Delivery was fast, product hopefully last for years as the original did. At $25pr I should hope so. These speakers were stored in the basement for years as I was intimidated about packing up two 10" woofers and shipping them off someplace for repair. I watched the video tutorial and it really was as easy as it looked. I may have been a little sloppy with the glue on the first speaker but by the second you couldn't tell it wasn't factory installed. I used mineral spirits

Successful operation

Easy to use, good instructions and customer service via phone support. Repair went well - as always, removing the old foam was the most difficult and time-consuming part of the process. Speakers sound great again. I'll never understand why two small pieces of foam cost $25, but I guess that's the going rate and it's better than scrapping the speakers.

Refoamed some old Jensen 23s

Great product. Hardest part was the prep work...just be patient. Now these old speakers ROCK!

simple to use and install. I made one change to the instructions. as stated I glued to the cone first and let it setup. but before gluing to the metal frame, I use about a 16 magnets to hold the foam to the frame. Then check coil movement by hand, then test again using a small amp. once I know it's correct, I remove a magnet from 4 corners and glue. this takes longer, but I've have a 100% success with this method.

Jensen Model 4 repair

I purchased this kit for my 40 year old Jensen Model 4 speakers after watching the video on YouTube. Everything worked out perfectly. It was not hard to refoam the woofers and was significantly cheaper than purchasing new woofers. Speakers are like new again.

A: Yes, the "A" is for angle attach and the "F" is for flat attach. Jensen makes both styles so be sure to check which type you have before ordering.

A: Yes! Be sure to check the edge of your cone. We have some versions that use the flat attach style (little flat lip around edge of the cone). If you have they type, please order kit # JEN-FSK-10F.

A: Our liquid cone edge sealer is an optional brush on PVA coating that protects and seals foam, cloth and paper speaker surrounds. 1 oz. bottle and brush applicator. Goes on white, dries clear, and leaves a slight gloss finish. One bottle treats 4 to 6 speakers.
