Have to say hands down the best easy to install and works good sounds and feels better then new bought it for my JLW712 and yes I would recommend buying it thank you good product and if anyone has said anything bad they must of did it wrong

I got this subwoofer, a 750 watt amp, and the cabinet for $40 because the foam surrounding the speaker was all deteriorated. Thanks to Simply Speakers' easy to follow video guide, the subwoofer is repaired and installed in its cabinet. I've tested the subwoofer with it's new foam extensively for a few weeks now, and the foam hasn't unglued from the cone at all. I'd just like to warn customers, when the guy in the video tells you to hold the cone up to the foam surround for an hour, do so. Anything less and the foam comes right off. I had to reapply glue and sit there for an hour on top of the half hour I wasted because I thought the glue was dry. Another warning, when the guy says put 1 or 2 pounds of pressure on the outer cone and let it sit there over night, don't over do it! 1 or 2 pounds is enough. For lack of caution (and being tired because it was 2:13am in the morning and I had to get up at 6:00am, I put the lightest thing I could find which happen to be a round 5 pound object. I wasn't happy to find the outer cone was pushed into the inner cone and I now had a bump in the center of the cone. Summarizing my long story, follow the instructions in the video carefully. These guys know what they are doing. P.S. Yes, I fixed my cone. I took a hair drier and reheated the glue until the cone came off, then continued the video from that point on.

The kit worked perfectly and my speaker is like new. The step-by-step DIY video was great, however, a trick on how to keep the bottom cone pressed up against the new foam seal while the glue dried would have been nice.

After a few nicks and a few years the foam was in bad condition. I followed video directions and now it's as good as new. Saved a lot of $ compared to what the audio shop was going to charge me.

Repair kit (FSK-12JL-W7-1 (SINGLE)) was purchased for JL 12W7 speaker. Repair was performed in March 2015. Online instructions (youtube) were very helpful. Kit exactly imitates original surround. This speaker has not yet been re-installed, so I cannot attest to the robustness of the repair, however the speaker looks as good as new. Make sure to go light on the glue on the 'outer cone' to avoid squeeze-out. If some excess glue is visible after the repair, use rubbing alcohol and a gentle touch to rub away the excess; the alcohol will not harm the surround or the cone.
