JL W3 Classic repair

Had an old JL Audio 12" W3 with rotted foam. Pulled from storage and 2 hours after repair cured, speaker was used and sporadically inspected. Several weeks later after being in the trunk pushing 300w, speaker is great and w/o issues!! First timer doing a re-foam and all is well. No coil rubbing either! Well worth saving the speaker.

JL refome kit

I never done refome on car sub woofers only for house speakers but this kit is perfect fit no trimp its needed looks factory and sound amazing I do recomended dont used copy used the best siply speakers

Save me lots of $$$

my 14 yrs old JL12W6 V2 stopped producing the bass. All i hear is the rattling noise. After open up the box, I see all the foam surround the speaker paper crumbled. I threw this sub into the trash. But luckly I did some research that night and found simply speaker mentioned in a speaker forum. I almost ordered a new sub but decided to give this fix a try. 1st, I ordered the wrong version foam from simplyspeakers. The return was easy, no hassle. I reordered the correct one. I followed their instruction and even double glued layer after finishing. I am in awe on how my sub sound like new. I never knew the foam make this much difference. The foam quality seem strong and sturdy. It has been couple months of pounding via the JL 500/1 amp. Foam still looks good.

Working as expected. Looked like it didn't have the excursion of the old surround but the old one could have been stretched out after 10 years of use. Sounds great. Glue works fast so install quickly.

A: Your model (12W3v3) uses a rubber surround, not foam. Our kits are foam for the 12W3v2.
