Marantz 15" Foam Speaker Repair Kit FSK-15A (PAIR)

I have acquired two pair of Maranz 1515 from 1974,I paid $150 for all four and they all need new foam. After receiving my new rings and dust covers, also watching the professionals at Simply Speakers do the re foaming I started with the first one it was so Simple all you need is a little patience and after and hour you have a fresh Speaker ready to enjoy, I am enjoying my beautiful Antique Maranz 1515's. One of my favorite tunes to play thruogh these monsters is Pink Floyd Echoes Live at Pompeii. \M/

Followed video instructions and successfully restored my ‘81 speakers to their glory days instead of going to the dump! My Marantz system is back in business!! One thing to note is the glue is runny so pay attention as you squeeze the tube, as the first time I got a lot on the counter instead of the cone. Great price and lifesaver! Thank you!

Quality is very good, fit was perfect. Install directions say the foam can be glued to the face of the cone. Maybe for the pros, not for me. I did one of each, one under like the factory, one on top. For a novice like me, placing the foam underneath was better. Bit more work, but it looks great! When gluing underneath, I glued a few inches at a time, used masking tape to hold in place and immediately moved to next few inches. Tape removed after 10 minutes.

I recently found a pair of Marantz SP-1500 speakers at a thrift store and picked them up for 30 bucks. They were in pretty decent shape but the foam surrounds were shot. I ordered this kit from Simply Speakers and did my first re-foam job. It went pretty well...I wanted to go the extra mile and mount the foams under the cone and it was a little extra work but turned out beautiful. I couldn't wait to hook them up to my Sansui 8080DB receiver. Woah...the BASS is great!

I have had great results with these kits, and will continue to use them. The inner dimension on the woofers from my Marantz SP1515 was a little too big, only because of the ridges on the cone. This kit was still the closest size, so I made it work. I glued right onto the ridges, as the foam overshot the smooth outer edge. In the end, they sound great.

Bought these to replace the rotted out ones on my Marantz speakers. After getting most of the old foam and glue off, which is the hard and time consuming part, These new ones went on pretty well. A little difficult getting them glued to the back side of the cones like the originals but got it done. Speakers now sound great and I've got my old stereo back.
