Marantz 3" Foam Speaker Repair Kit FSK-3 (PAIR)

Good instructions, great fit. My Marantz 7G's are back in tip-top shape. That was easy!

Once I got past the anxiety of touching and cutting and scraping on 37 year old speakers, the installation instructions were straightforward and complete. Installation was easy and the results were factory perfect. I believe the glue supplied is the key. The speakers look and sound great. No more buzzing and low volume play. My Marantz Imperial 7's sound like new again.

I found these yard sale speakers with good main 10" drivers but badly degraded 3" mids. This kit fixed them up fast. I used a small paint brush to spread the glue (not included) on the second speaker repair because I had some trouble getting the glue spread without getting it on the visible part of the foam with the glue applicator. The instructions are good and clear and the glue in the kit IS better than some other kits I have used and it dries fast. I had these speakers rockin' 4 hours after I started and they sound excellent.

This was surprisingly easy to do. Just take your time and watch the video.

I looked everywhere for replacement midrange speakers for my Marantz Imperial 7 speakers because I was afraid to try to replace the foam surrounds myself. The replacement speakers don't exist anymore anywhere. So the nice person and Simply Speakers suggested I try doing it myself and gave me links to several videos showing the procedure. I ordered them and they got here really fast and packed very well. They fit perfectly in my existing speakers and the process was surprisingly easy. I was scared when I did the first one, but it turned out perfect. After doing both, I can not tell that it isn't the original factory surround, and they sound great again. Instead of replacing the foam-deteriorated Midrange speakers in my Vintage Marantz Imperial 7's (that I actually bought Brand New in the late 1960's), I tried my hand at repairing them with this Foam Surround Repair Kit. All that was needed to do a professional job was included in the kit, and the excellent, on-line, Step-by-Step Instructional Video was very helpful in knowing what to expect, even before the purchase of the repair kit. Following the instructions (also included in the kit), the repair process went flawlessly, and these unsightly speakers were transformed into looking like they just stepped out of the factory! Perfect fit for the original midrange on Imperial 7. The video was very helpful. Be careful with the provided glue - it is runny and dripped off the target line with these small edges. With hindsight, I would have used a small brush or other applicator to avoid some cleanup.

This is my 3rd kit I've purchased and installed. This one was used to revive an old set of Marantz Imperial 7 speakers that have been sitting idle for at least 40 years in my parents basement. The tweeter and woofers checked out OK, but the foam surround of the midrange was shot. Simply Speakers had a matching kit to rebuild that surround. In some cases, working with a smaller speaker was easier than one larger. There was much less time cleaning up the pieces and the glue of the old surround. However, when installing the smaller surround, it was a little tougher to get your fingers on both sides of the come so that the new surround made contact. And like with my earlier rebuilds, I use a little too much glue on the first one, and just right on the second one! But the slight excess glue doesn't appear to affect the sound in any way. This is a very reasonably priced kit, with all of the components needed (except a razor blade and some rubbing alcohol) to bring these speakers back to life. They sound like new. I'll probably put these into the used market because I have enough speakers, but I'm hoping to find someone that will enjoy these as much as I did.

I needed to put new speaker grill on my Marantz Imperial speakers. After 50 years the foam was disintegrating. Also, the surrounds on the mid-range speakers were disintegrated. Simply Speakers provided just what I needed and the repair was easy when I followed their videos. I recommend them highly.
