Paradigm PDR12, PDR-12v.3, PS-1200 Subwoofer 12" Foam Speaker Repair Kit FSK-12JL-1 (SINGLE)

I have an 11 year old Paradigm PDR-12 V.3 and the foam edge was starting to come loose from the cone causing a terrible distortion / buzzing. I stumbled across this product and was skeptical. I watched the video and it gave me a lot of confidence that I could do this myself. The installation was very simple and the speaker sounds like new again. Great product and Simply Speakers shipped right away. I will use this again if needed on my other Paradigm’s. Helpful Tips: The speaker is removed from the back of the cabinet, the grill does not come off. The PDR-12 V.3 has a flat surface on the cone for gluing the foam edge and not the angled surface like the CV in the video. I ordered a new gasket when I ordered the Repair Kit just in case I had problems and I’m glad I did, it’s only $4. The adhesive that Paradigm used made it impossible for me to not destroy the old gasket. I also used the Sealer. It applies easily and takes 2+ hours to dry.

What a good product to resurrect a dying or dead speaker. My Paradigm sub had been sitting in storage for 6 years waiting to be put into service again. I soooo remember the 32' pipes of George Wright at the Fox theatre Wurlitzer putting the sub through it paces with floor rumbling accuracy and and power and I NEEDED it again!(its like a sonic drug!) After getting the system up and running again,(and I had great fear that it wouldn't after 6 years....)I assembled all of the components and hit the switch. All was well until I loaded a BluRay disc of Independence Day Resurgence...... all went to pieces. The sub made noises that can only be described as terrifying! Off the sub went until I could order the parts from these fine people, for I knew just what the problem was...... surround foam rot! After many weeks before I could get to the repair (and emails asking me to rate the product... and great trepidation as to what I was getting into), I jumped into the repair after viewing the video of what to expect. The worst part was getting the speaker out of the cabinet, just understanding how to manipulate a speaker that would basically clear the opening was the kicker to success. After the rebuild,(that went like the video said it would) I used their surround preserver juice to prevent this from happening for years from now. The house shakes with George and the roof comes in with the BluRay and I am one happy musicnut! I was soo inspired to continue the trend, I rebuilt a set of Boston Acoustic A60 speakers that were GONE with the confidence I got from this experience. I had the surrounds for years but was afraid to tackle it because the supplier of the foam said to cut out the cone dust dome and wedge the voice coil to effect the repair. These speakers got the same treatment as the sub got and they are singing again after 20 years with the same voice I remembered them to have........ all thanks to Simply Speakers and their guidance and product. I was surprised how easy it was. Much better than buying a new speaker, or even taking it somewhere to be refoamed. I'll recommend this to everyone!

Are you kidding me? I was about to toss my 20 year old, rattle trap Paradigm PS-1200 sub out when I came across this site. 1 week and a little over 20 bucks later I've got a sub that's as good as when I bought it? Are you kidding me? Love this sort of thing.

I just repaired my Paradigm PS-1200 sub. The 12 inch foam surround had disintegrated. The hardest part is cleaning the old glue off the cage. I honestly feel the sub sounds better now than it did new. Paradigm quoted me $200 to rebuild the speaker(it's not made anymore) and I did it for under $20.. I am thrilled! If I am able to do the repair anyone can do it. Just watch the videos that they mention to get idea of what and how to do it.. amazing.. There is no better feeling than doing something yourself, saving a ton of money, and it sounding as good as new. I also got a new gasket, just in case I needed it. The new gasket was not a perfect fit, but I'm sure I could trim it to fit.. but I didn't need it.

Fit on my paradigm 12 inch sub. Not an exact exact fit, but quite pleased. The guy in instructional video will make you feel inadequate at your glue application skills ;) but sloppy still works. went on fine and works, no more rattle.
