Cloth Edge RCF L18/P300 18" Speaker Repair Kit CLSK-RCF-L18/P300 (PAIR)

I have RCF L18 851KN's in Yorkville cabinets. I've been thumping them for years in my man cave. They were beat down and in need of some much over due love. I needed them fixed by new years 2018. I still have to do the repairs. I've never repaired speakers before either. I am a horrible procrastinator too. I came to this realization on Dec. 31st. While ordering, I made an error ordering extra edge sealer. Added it to my order on speaker kit page for 6.95. I adjusted the qty in the cart to 3 before check out. Again, I didn't pay close attention and confirmed the order. I needed my order ASAP. It added 3 more edge sealers at a cost of 7.95, plus the one for 6.95 from kit page. I was confused. I emailed them asking which price was correct and why it was different. They informed me that it was discounted if added with the kit. They asked how much I needed and said they would adjust the price on them since I already checked out. The customer service was amazing, the order shipped out the next day. I received it in plenty of time for repairs. Once I stripped the old surrounds off, I noticed the new surrounds didn't go to the edges of the frame and old glue line on the cone like the old ones did. Kit was for RCFL18P300s. I had no choice. I needed them soon and had no time left. So I glued the new ones down with a bit of "extra" glue. Good thing I ordered that extra edge sealer, cause I needed it. I cut a old plastic credit card to match the contour of the surround, then layered more glue on smoothing and leveling it out with the card. I put the old gaskets on, flipped the fresh glued speaker over face down, then set the second speaker on top with a block of wood in between. The final repairs happened at about 5pm on the 31st. The party started at 7pm, so I'm under the gun. After letting them dry for maybe an hour, not long enough, it was time. First people started showing up as I'm literally mounting the speaker in the cabinet. Hooked it back up, fired up the system, and eased the volume levels up slowly, it's time to jam. IT SOUNDED LIKE NEW!!! They worked, very very well. They weren't ripping off the frames. I thumped them off and on all night until 5am and they sounded great. Still holding strong after more LOUD and frequent weekend jam sessions. Great products and great service from this company. I didn’t know if doing this repair was above my skill set, but with the tutorial videos this was a complete piece of cake. And for $55, certainly save me over $1000 on new drivers. I would use this again and again A+++
