Replacement for Bose 802 Pro & Bose 901

Parameters were carefully optimized to match the performance of the classic Bose 901™ loudspeaker systems. Individually or in multiples, replacing your legendary but aging speakers has never been easier—or achieved better results. The top plate and T-yoke are Japanese-made cold forged low carbon steel. The flat back plate provides a uniform surface area to which the magnet is bonded, and the outside of the back plate is chamfered to maximize flux density in the gap. Critical attention has been paid to the pole piece and voice coil tolerances, thereby assuring high yield and immunity to mechanical issues. High-grade Y-35 strontium ferrite magnet material is utilized in the motor structure to ensure consistent motor force. The cone is made of long fiber New Zealand pulp paper, an ideal material for cone applications. It's rigid and just lossy enough to produce full, accurate sound. A 2-layer low oxygen copper voice coil is wound on a high temperature resistant polyimide former. Every driver is hand checked and tested, based on a +-2 dB window.

Ive had this set of 901s from 1980 in 2005 I foam edged them with 1 of your kits and it made them like new A few weeks ago I replaced the front drivers with your 901 style 1 ohm drivers they fit and they work perfect I cant say enough about your products and service {THANK YOU VERY MUCH}

I purchased 2 of these to replace the speakers in my Bose 101. The speaker cone in one of mine got wet and stiffened up so it needed replacing. I wasn't sure how these replacements would match the originals in sound so to keep the pair balanced I bought 2. It turns out that the original one in my set was a little louder than this replacement so I'm glad I replaced them both. they are exactly the same size as the original and replacing them was a breeze. If I ever needed to I would buy them again. I sure like the old Bose 101's. The high impact plastic cases are great for outdoor applications. Too bad they discontinued them.

Q: I am making a sound system for a motorcycle, If i can find a weatherproof enclosure for theses speakers, do you think i could use them for this purpose? if so, what size amp would you recommend. Thank you

A: These are 1 ohm speakers so they will not be compatible to run by themselves as you are suggesting. We recommend any of our other Full Range speakers like the F-301 or F-701 for your design.

Q: The description hints rather strongly that the F-901 speaker will NOT fit the Series 1 Bose 901. What is there about this that is different, aside the different number of mounting screws? Is there a replacement solution for the Series-1?

A: The early versions use a 4 hole, metal frame speaker that is 8 ohms, so this unit is not compatible. We use our F-701 full range 8 ohm replacement driver for the series 1 Bose 901's that use that style driver.

Q: I have 901 first generation speakers and the speakers ohm out at 8 (+-.2) . Will these 1 ohm speakers work Better than the original? What can I expect? Better life , better performance, or better chances of picking up women, or ??

A: If you have the early series 1 or series 2 Bose 4 hole frame design, please order our 8 ohm replacement part # F-701. If you go with the F-901, 1 ohm replacement, the cabinet must be rewired with all drivers in series. And yes, you will have much better odds with the ladies!

Q: I need to replace a few drivers in Bose 901 series ii - four hole mount. Other than re-drilling for the 3-hole mount would these speakers other fit the speaker hole and perform the same as the four hole unit?

A: Be sure to verify of you have the 8 ohm or the 1 ohm drivers. Some early 901 series II use an 8 ohm driver. In this case, please replace with part # F-701. Otherwise, the F-901 will be the correct choice.
