4-1/2" Full Range, Paper Cone, Foam Edge, 8 Ohm, F-701

I was trying to bring life back to my Pioneer HPM 100s. The mid range speakers were blown. Simply speakers offered a replacement, originals no longer available except ebay. Holes didn't match up perfect but got them to work. The sound is really nice and am very happy with the speakers. Listen to my vinyl almost daily.

The speaker sound great! Rich bass and crisp mids. The only issue I have is: there is really no good way to tell what the mounting hole pattern is. Also, it's difficult to tell what size the actual speaker hole needs to be. 4 stars because the information is lacking.

Bose 901 series II

I purchased these as replacements for my 901 series 2 drivers. They fit and work perfectly. The voice coils and power handling are a bit larger than stock, but that doesn't seem to affect the performance negatively. I replaced 4 of the 9 drivers in one speaker. 42 year old Bose 901s are back and kicking it.

Back to life !

These speakers were a perfect fit for my Auratone 5c's (second series, replaced the "video shielded" originals). The negative terminal is different from the original, but easily modified to work (crimp on a new connector, or solder bare wire to speaker terminal). Sounds great once installed!

Worth the upgrade

I bought four of these speakers to replace the factory built Nady PM200A powered personal monitor. The Nady Factor spec. said 5", no it is not. This 4 1/2" full range speaker fitted perfectly. There are two full range speakers per cab. WOW! I could not beleive my ear these new full range speakers are way louder, clear vocal, more detail on 10KHz and above, the 100HZ is warmer and more detail than the factor speaker. WORTH THE UPGRADE.

Q: How do you measure a speaker, my built in speaks in my house don't work, want to save housing and replace speaker only, do you measure bolt holes 4 inch square, is this a 4 in speaker then, or do you measure the cone?

A: The size is the OUTSIDE diameter of the speaker, measured on the short side across the frame. You can see all the dimensions on the product details page.

Q: I have a Onkyo receiver.that puts out 100 watts per channel .These speakers will replace rear di-pole rears that have two 4.5 speakers and two tweeters each facing opposite directions. Will these handle the wattage . It looks like their dimensions are the same. I would appreciate an answer A.s.a.p.thanks

A: Sorry, this speaker does not fit the Advent 2W. Your model uses an odd size woofer. We stock a foam repair kit for the woofer if needed. See kit # FSK-9.

Q: I recently looked at my Bose 901 early series speakers. They have the 4 hole anchoring placement and I believe they are in good condition because there is no deterioration of the edges. They look similar to your F-701 designation speakers. Does this mean that my speakers are fine and do not need any replacement parts? I took a couple of photo's I can send later for confirmation of condition. Thank you for you help on this, Bryan

A: The F-701 is a great full range replacement. As long as the width and depth work for your cabinet, then there is no reason you can't use these.
