Works Perfectly!

I purchased a pair of these as replacement tweets for a set of older 90s Pioneer CS-G403, and they dropped in perfectly.

Saved My Technics

I was sore when I blew the tweeters in my old Technics A30s. Made the mistake of switching from a weak to strong input without lowering the volume first. These tweeters fit my old Technics 3-ways; I only needed to drill a couple of small holes. They offer comparable, if not better, quality sound versus the originals. No, these tweeters cannot compare to modern Klipsch horns, but they're perfect replacements for 1980s/90s era speakers that came with the component stacks. Remember those? Too bad there's no more Technics these days, but thanks to these tweeters mine are still going strong.

A: The tweeter only "sees" about 10% of the total power to the cabinet because of the crossover. That is why you see 10 watt and 20 watt tweeters used in 100 watt systems.

A: No, these tweeters are not correct for Pioneer CS-88a's. For the Pioneer CS-88a tweeter we suggest either sending it to us for repair or purchasing our New-Edge-It repair kit PIO-FSK-3P.

A: Yes, the T-120 tweeter is compatible with many older Technics systems. Please double check the size and hole cut-out diameter of the original to verify the fit before ordering.

Q: I have an old Proton 300 desk radio that has a damaged tweeter. I found this speaker and think it will fit the hole that is 2.5". The plate on the old speaker was round and this is square but it sits behind a grill so it shouldn't be an issue. The old speaker was an 8 ohms 10 Watt tweeter. Do you think this would be an issue as the T-120 is 8 ohms and 20 Watts. Will it affect the sound or balance at all? Thanks, Don.

A: The power handling will not be an issue for the sound balance. it simply means that the new tweeter could handle more power if it was ever required to do so. However, it is always a good idea to replace them in pairs if budget allows.

A: Yes, but it is slightly smaller than the original Pioneer tweeter. We also sell foam replacement kit part # FSK-3P if you wish to keep the original tweeters and refoam them.
