I was rebuilding two Advent speakers and needed two speakers to replace the older ones. The W-1038s did an excellent job. They go well with my Infinity center speaker.

The W-1038s are just superb in range. Great sound, adapted "electrically" well to existing Speaker configuration. Unfortunately there is a "but". Although the bolt holes are exact in location ,these replacement speaker holes were just offset to mount in original slots. I was able to rotate the new speakers 90 degrees and drill new holes. Perhaps some modification should be in order i.e slightly larger holes or another set of holes closer to the rim. Just a suggestion. I was able to do it with some annoyance never the less a success but not all people have the tools and expertise to go the distance. After all one is anxious to hook'em up right away after the absence of HI-Fi. This type of delay was frustrating. I did survive. Thanks for asking.

Resurrected my Advents!!

Great fix for my beloved Advent Legacy IIs. The foam surrounds on the Legacy drivers had "rotted" and degraded performance. After a little research, confirmed through a chat with a Simply Speakers tech, this is the recommended replacement driver. Mounting screws worked well, with no need to drill new holes in the cabinet. I do, however, recommend starting all four screws in the speaker frame to facilitate mounting. I agree with the prior reviewer that polarity of the contacts on the speaker are very difficult to see. Even a simple dot of red paint on one contact would help. Resurrected Legacies sound great again. Very glad that I found Simply Speakers.

Works great for Advent Legacy II

I purchased a pair to replace woofers with rotted foam surrounds. They mounted in the cabinet perfectly without having to drill any holes. They sound wonderful in the Legacy II cabinet. It's a very good replacement. I wish the polarity were clearly marked is my only complaint. Now that I have working speakers, I'll try my hand at refoaming the originals from '89 without fear of losing my nice sounding speakers :)

Q: Will this woofer work ??? JBL PB 10 powered subwoofer, the original speaker is a 10" cellulose fiber 150 watt with a low of 50Hz to 150Hz and a low-pass cross over. I would appreciate any help, I can't stand the crackling sound and I use my surround sound system all the time. I tried calling JBL but I could not understand the persons the only thing I did understand was they don't make the woofer anymore. So again any help would be greatly appreciated.
