Bought these as an exact replacement for my beloved Advent Laureate. Wired them in in minutes...cranked up for a few hours...sound great. Running from an older Harmon Kardon receiver with a powered Boston Acoustics sub to fill out the low end. Great price, quality & shipping. Packed in box well. Great buy.

I bought a pair of these to replace the woofers in my Paradigm speakers after the old ones disintegrated. They dropped right in and sound perfect, just like the old speakers.

I built* a couple of PA columns using two of these as woofers and four F-701 full range speakers as tweeters in each column with a x/o at 2k. These are clean and musical speakers. Very flat. Broke them in using Stones live and they sound great -- light on bottom when set flat, as any small woofer, but with EQ, the bass is full, clean and deep. Adding an external subwoofer and using these as mids works well too. Very happy. Also, customer service is great -- my design changed and Simply Speakers took my original order back and sent the new gear quickly and cheerfully. Got clear, prompt answers to several tech questions too. *My columns were built by Soundsriteaudio.com -- if you need custom cabinets, they do good work too.

I bough this as a replacement for a a small PA. It ended up sounding so much better than the other on I bought a second and replaced that too.

i AM QUITE HAPPY WITH THE SPEAKER AND THE WAY THE ITEM WAS SHIPPED. i WOULD DO BUSINESS AGAIN IF i EVER NEED A REPLACEMENT SPEAKER.

A: We prefer the W-6024 poly cone, rubber surround, woofer for your model, but the W-206-4 would certainly work.

Q: Is the 4 ohm, W-206-4 suitable as a replacement woofer in a Boston Acoustics A40 and will it fit the original cut-out and screw holes?

A: Yes, this woofer works great for the Boston A40 (series 1 only). If you have the series 2 or newer, your only option is to refoam the original woofer due to the odd sized frame used in those versions. See our page on Boston Acoustics foam edge repair kits for information.
