Rubber Edge 12" Speaker Repair Kit RSK-12A (PAIR)

I have installed new foam-edge kits on four 15 inch woofers, & I have installed new rubber-edge kits on two 12 inch woofers. I found that the rubber-edge kits were slightly easier to install than the foam-edge kits, but all kits produced good results, & were safely within my capabilities as a novice speaker repairman. I can recommend either type of repair kit, & I hope to someday find an excuse for installing a cloth-edge kit on another set of speakers, as I suspect they will be easier to install than the other two kinds. If you follow the installation instructions provided, do a good job of removing the old edge material & adhesive residues, & then keep the voice coil & cone concentrically centered while the new adhesive cures: it is hard to fail.

A by FAR more durable choice as opposed to a Foam Surround if you are ok with the frequency responce trade off. If you are useing 12's for mids in a PA system, this is the best way to go. If you are trying to squeeze low freqs out of your 12's for a home stereo, stay with the Foam. Skill level, moderate. Unless you are ALL thumbs; this is as easy as it gets.

Prepping the speaker was the most important thing. The rubber edge worked great. take your time when doing the install, My JVC Speakers haven't sounded this great in years. Local Pro speaker shop wanted $150 a peace I did it for under $40.for both. So pleased with the finished product.

The rubber speaker foams worked for me. I thought I needed new speakers but I bet I will get another 20 years use. Great product.

After watching the videos from the company, I was quite confident in attempting to restore my speakers and decided to go with rubber instead of foam. I am glad I did!

I have to admit I was a little nervous about purchasing the repair kit (first timer) but I used the easy to follow instructions for ordering and (I had a reverse rolled foam surround and changed it to conventional ..nail biting) but when I placed the new Rubber (Upgrade from original) it laid on there just like it was made for that speaker I was so very happy!!! gluing was a bit time consuming but I got there and the speakers are now back in working condition. they are a pair of 12" 3 way "Acoustic" Brand from 1978 I have owned them since new (they sure don't make em like that any more)

My subwoofers were sad. Buzzing and crackling all the time. The bass had left my life shallow and empty. But since discovering this re-foam kit and spending a couple hours over two weekends lovingly applying the sweet, sweet glue to my four tired cones, I've rekindled something warm and touching in my system. The notes of joy reverberate through me, carrying the beautiful timbre of presence throughout my home and onward to my neighbor's property... broadcasting for all to hear the magical drops of BASS.

I've never heard of such a thing before finding this website. I never thought that it could be that easy to repair a speaker. I ordered the kits for 4 speakers, watched a video, followed the instructions, and the results were excellent. I would do this again, for sure. Tom N.

When I ordered this kit I made an error with the OD. I sent an email to Tom @ Simply Speakers to which he replied the next day, about changing from rubber to foam surrounds, to which he advised me, that would change the bass response. He also advised that if I had at least 1/4" to use adhesive on it would be fine. I had just about 3/8". Best advice I could have got. It works great and corrected a problem that I created. I have purchased cone replacement kits which also were great. I will continue to use Simply Speakers and have already recommended you to industry friends and associates.
