Great Customer Service

I was replacing a built in polk home audio speaker, I was unsure what replacement may work. The customer service team asked for a photo and came up with an easy to install, great sounding speaker and now our home theater sounds great.

Great, Clear Mid-Range Woofer!

I installed 2 of the woofers in my Boston HD5 bookshelf speakers from the 90's. The old speaker's surrounds detached from the cone and needed 2 surrounds, but my mischievous self decided blow them so I decided to buy new woofers. I looked on Parts Express and found nothing but junk and went on Simply Speakers and found these. They are clear Mid-range woofers. If you expect bass or lower frequencies there will be little bursts but not very loud (you'll need a subwoofer if you want optimal sound). Otherwise they sound very good and are a good bang for the buck.

Happy Camper!

I recently purchased an A/V unit after years of no music or Home Theatre. I got out my center speaker and the foam was all mucked up. I ordered the foam repair kit and excitedly fetched my center speaker only to see one of the speakers was torn apart from a move. Returning the kit was a breeze. I chatted with someone regarding replacement speakers and purchased a pair of W-520-8 speakers. Just now got around to installing and hooking up the system. The new speakers are great. They blend well with my existing system. Just a shout out for the assistance and advice as well as providing an excellent solution to my problem. I would do biz with these guys any day!

Q: this woofer has 3 terminals. How is the bass blocking hookup used?

A: This unit includes a 3rd terminal that normally goes un-used. If you want to add a bass blocker, it can be soldered between the 3rd terminal and the positive input terminal.

Q: Replacing the woofer for the Mini Advent 11" tall bookshelf speaker. How is this W-520-8 different from the W-205-8s? Which would be the better replacement for my speaker. I see that this one is a bit less deep (the original is 2") and that the cone is poly.

Q: Can this speaker be used to replace the woofer in Boston Acoustics in-wall speaker Model 350, which includes a 5 1/4 inch copolymer woofer? I am trying to determine if I should purchase this replacement woofer speaker or just the 5.25 inch woofer foam replacement kit. The Boston Acoustics model 350 has very similar specs to the W-520-8: Boston Acoustics 350 Frequency Response: 68-20,000 Hz Nominal Impedance: 4 ohms Sensitivity: 90 dB Woofer: 5 1/4" Copolymer Recommended Amp Power: 5-50 Watts Crossover Frequency: 3500 Hz Mounting Depth: 2 5/8" Thanks

A: Yes, the W-520-8 will work for your model. However it is an 8 ohm unit so you will lose a bit of efficiency. You should always replace both in a pair to match.
