These speakers were a perfect fit for the Optimus LX5. They sound just as good as the original ones did. No modifications needed.

The sound quality of these replacement woofers for the Optimus 77 speakers is better than the originals! Installation was slightly challenging due to the minimally larger form factor of the replacement woofers. The frame is the perfict fit, but, the new frame is better made, and a bit thicker. First, the speaker insulation had to be shifted to allow the depth of the woofer to be screwed flush to the mounting frame and holes. Secondly, the metal grill had to be trimmed at the edges where is came in contact with the woofer frame. The grill would not fit flush without trimming those areas of contact. I trimmed the metal grill with a "nibbling tool", but, small tin snips or diagonal cutters will do the trick. All in all, GREAT replacements, and, the sound is better than they sounded when I used to sell them in my retail stores :)....

The replacement speakers fit my Optimus speakers perfectly and sound as good as the originals! I have no problem searching them out either. This was great, especially considering that these speakers have been off the market for many years.

Great little woofer for the price!

The folks at Simply Speakers were great to deal with. I love my speakers and I have had them for many years. When the polypropylene let go had found out that you could not repair them. These speakers were a PERFECT MATCH! I could not be more happier.

Easy installation and better than the originals.

These definitely sound better than the originals. I noticed that, after a break in period, the bass is more pronounced and these sound really good all by themselves. The mids are still very present and the overall tone is the same as the originals. The Kevlar cone is much cooler looking and probably accounts for the better bass due to the increased stiffness and better damping. These are built like the originals and drop right in. If you're trying to resurrect your old Optimus LX5IIs like me, you won't be disappointed. Great price, too!
