All of the surrounds fit perfectly and repairs were tedious. Just take your time and you will have good results as I did. I repaired all 18 speakers without removing them from the cabinet.

Go with the cloth!

GReat item and delivery. Worked as advertised . Wish Bose had used these cloth surrounds originally. My 901's sound as they should have when new! Cloth is the way to go!

Works GREAT

I watched the online video several times. Took my time cleaning and preparing speakers for repairs. The kit worked very well, just follow the video. The glue was a little tricky at first, using too much or not enough. Once that was worked out went smooth. Great product!

The surrounds were well made and fit perfectly, however the glue provided with the kit was very difficult to work with; way too sticky and viscous for that kind of close application. I repaired the first speaker with the glue that came with the kit. My first repair, because of how difficult the glue was to apply and the way it dried, looked amateurish. I repaired the second speaker with an adhesive called "Tacky Glue." It provided the same adhesive ability but was much, much easier to work with; plus it dried smoother and clearer. The second speaker repair looked like a professional repair. BUT… they both did the job and the speakers were repaired and made fully functional again. Bottom line: The kit worked well but I would change the glue.

Bose Restoration

Fabric was a good choice, Glue is tough to work with, I recommend going with the fabric. Not one speaker is clicking and took some time to break in the new fabric edges sound was flat for about a week now sounds awesome... just needed to settle in.

I can't say enough about the 901 cloth surround kit from Simply Speakers. Great quality surrounds, good glue and plenty of it - more than enough for the job. The best part is the staff at Simply Speakers. They are always ready to answer a question. And their YouTube video showing how to do the Bose 901 surrounds is a superb tutorial. I watched it more than once, having had no previous experience at this. I have now done two sets of 901's (a series III and a series IV) that I got for nearly nothing, because the surrounds were shot. Now they sound as good as new... and unlike the original foam surrounds, these cloth surrounds should last a very long time. It's surprisingly easy job if you watch the video and take your time!

Q: Is there a sound quality difference between the cloth and foam surrounds for 901 bose speakers? I rebuilt a set with foam and now have another set to do. I understand the cloth will last longer but sound quality is my question. thx

A: The foam has slightly better bass response. If you have already repaired a set with the foam kit, we recommend staying with the foam kit for your next repair.

Q: The description says these fit series 2 thru 6. Do you sell a different kit that fits Bose 901 series 1?

A: The Bose 901 series 1 was a different design with a cloth surround (not foam). The repair kit is not needed with that model, but we do sell a compatible replacement driver part # F-701 if needed.

Q: Where is this product manufactured? The speakers I'm working with (Bose 802 Professional) have never been repaired; will the cloth work as easily as the foam in placement and glue drying time?

A: Yes! This kit fits all Bose models with the 3 hole plastic frame drivers, including series II. Be sure to remove the grill and check the drivers before ordering a repair kit.

Q: Is there a sound difference between the foam and cloth surrounds?

A: Yes. The cloth surrounds are a bit stiffer so they tend to reduce bass response a bit. You can adjust the Bose 901 EQ to compensate for this if desired.
