MCS 12" Foam Speaker Repair Kit FSK-12F (PAIR)

My first attempt at re-foaming a speaker worked out really well. Customer is extremely pleased and so am I. I followed the instructions exactly and glued the foam to the cone first and let it dry. When I glued the foam to the frame, I took my time and made sure there was no binding or stress when I moved the speaker in and out. Customer support was superb, too. These were old 12" Panasonic speakers from JC Penney. They told me exactly which kit to order. The white cones got a little dirty when I tried to clean off the foam. Customer service recommended I give the a light coat of white spray paint and they look really nice. Thank you for making a great product. Thank you for allowing old speakers to NOT end up in a landfill.

I recently purchased this reforming kit to fix my beloved cerwin Vega speakers and it just works perfect, installation is easy and fast and effective. Excelent product and good price.

The repair kit worked very well. The style of speaker made it somewhat tough to make the repair but patience was the key. Now my speaker sounds like they use to when new.

Seems to be a good replacenent surround, just not for the MCS 683-8228 12" woofers. After removing the old foam from my woofers, I dry fitted the new surrounds. To my suprise, the inner diameter of the new foams were a just about 3/4 of an inch smaller than the inner diameter of the cones mounting surface. I reached out to the guys at SS and explained my issue and they recommended that I "pre-stretch" the new foams, so i did. As much as I was comfortable with anyways, but it just wasn't enough. I put them on anyways but neither is centered on the cone and therefore they arent centered on the baskets either. I have them back together now and I don't think it's affecting their performance but im not positive on that. It was a little stressful and took much longer than it should have, but all in all I am fairly happy with the end result. If I had to do it again, I would probably go another route.

very nice product, doe's what it is meant to well. The glue was faster setting than what the video portrays but still works well.

Until recently, I had no idea this product existed. Stumbled across this repair on the web. It saved my old speakers from being thrown out. Take your time and you should have great success. First time repair for me, and sounding good!
