JBL Style LE25 Cone Tweeter, L26, L36, L100, 4311, 4312, Others, T-LE25

The replacement LE25 Cone Tweeter for the L100 looks and sounds identical to the original. The exception is the connector leads are more delicate than the original and easily broken off. When connecting use good tools, e.g. needle nose pliers, to firmly hold and control the leads so they won't bend and snap off. Also use a common screw driver to gently pry open the speaker's connecting wire clips to more easily connect to the new leads without too much force. I broke the connector leads on my first order (my fault) and so had to purchase a second tweeter. Simply Speakers delivered the products promptly and well packaged.

I ordered and installed two LE25 cone tweeter replacements on my two JBL100 Century speakers. The installation was easy, and they both fit perfectly. After the replacement, the JBL's sounded remarkably brighter and more realistic. I didn't know what I'd been missing for years! Thank you - great job!

I have been enjoying my recently purchased L100 speakers, but noted the foam rings were hard to touch, and I was finding the tweeters were irritatingly bright on my ears. I purchased replacement foams from eBay, and went to install them. That's when I discovered one of the tweeters wires had come loose. Need to fix that, but in the interim, I did some looking around on the net, and discovered the original LE25, LE25-2, LE25-4 and LE26 are all discontinued. I found some aftermarket replacements from Simply Speakers, and thought, "why not, particularly for the price, which is quite reasonable." Price for two, with free shipping, was $138. Shipping was very prompt, and the new tweeters arrived safe and sound, very well packaged. Good company to deal with. Install was super easy, exact fit, although one of the electrical terminals is a little loose (I noted the same with both tweeters). Face plate is exactly the same. Tweeter is solid black, looks like a LE-25-2, as opposed to the original first gen, which has a orange ring around it. Foam is medium dark grey. Before I installed both, I did a little comparison testing, the good JBL original, versus the new aftermarket. The Simply Speaker LE25 was smoother, less harsh. More pleasing to my ears. Anyway, I'm pleased. I plan to fix the damaged JBL LE25, and keep the originals safe, as spares. The Simply Speakers ones will remain in service. The L100s are back in service, at the moment pumping out the Stones' "Fingerprint File". Just a testimonial, in case other L100 (or L26, L36, 4311, 4312) owners have damaged tweeters, and are looking at options for replacement.

I did not initially realize that my JBL L100's were not up to their full potential performance levels until I wanted to replace the foam rings on the tweeters and noticed the micro wires under the deteriorated foam rings wires were broken. Through the great advice I received from Simply Speakers they suggested I replace the tweeters with these perfect replacements. Easy to replace, just be very careful removing and reconnecting the terminals. I'm back to the great "brilliance" that these speakers are capable of. Really happy now.
