Q: My Bose 301 Series IV woofers have a separate 3rd (jumper terminal with a capacitor) 3rd separate terminal not shown on your replacement speaker? Does the speaker come with directions for re-wiring or how do you rewire without the 3rd terminal?
A: On this Bose version, you must duplicate the original set-up, but you do not have the third terminal to use for the capacitor hookup.
The red will go to the positive terminal of the new woofer.
Remove the green capacitor (it must be re-used)
The black wires go to the negative terminal of the new woofer.
One side of the capacitor also goes to the negative of the new woofer.
The yellow wires will then connect to the other side of the capacitor.
You can glue the capacitor to the frame, or tape it with masking tape.
Make sure all of the wires are not touching each other.
