Pioneer 8" Foam Speaker Repair Kit FSK-8 (PAIR)

I have to say that this product was money truly well spent. The assembly was easy if you followed the instructions and the videos provided on-line by Simply Speakers. And the best part, the sound was amazing afterwards. I am not a audiophile but, to me, it was like having a new pair of speakers (I have a pair of Pioneer HPM-300 from the late 70's). The delivery was well within the time frame suggested by Simply Speakers as well.

I am currently listening to my restorred pioneer 60A speakers. I should have ordered from Simplyspeakers my first attempt instead of ending up with the wrong size inserts and wondering about what kind of glue to use. Now these old speakers are doing what the were made to do ---once again, decades later.

This is a great product, although not for the novice. Alignment is an issue and requires tedious exercise of the cone. This could result in undesired results if not done cautiously. I've reconed speakers for years, and trying to accomplish this without alignment shims is little "hit & miss". The adhesive sets up extremly fast, and does not allow much time for adjustments. For professional looking results, the amout of adhesive bead used and placement is critical.

The speaker surrounds on my Pioneer original 8" Woofers were completely disintegrating after 27 years of service. I found the FSK-8 repair kit and after texting with Sean, decided to give the kits a try. My speakers were designed and built by me and the drivers were spec'd by me. I looked at several companies to find a new driver with the same specifications to replace my old drivers, but to no avail. Thought it would be more difficult especially keeping the voice-coil centered. It was in fact quite easy. I use the speakers as my front mains in my home theater system and the replacements surrounds work great. No Scrapping, no rubbing etc. just pure sound. I really like the glue that comes in the kit better than the white glue in other kits, and believe it is one reason the centering of the cone was easier. However, you cannot take too long to center. Only one caveat, make sure when you open the glue that you purge the tube well. When it is purged well the glue will be totally clear. Shipping was timely, price was competitive, and staff was responsive answering questions. I would definitely recommend Simply Speakers for your speaker part needs. If I could include pictures of the finished products I would.
